Sales Status Mapping for Twilio

Use sales status mapping to determine under which circumstances Twilio should trigger automated messages to your customers.  

It is necessary to define the rule for each of the products in Guru with Twilio. This configuration is done through Status Mapping.

Before configuring, you need to:

Add sale/subscription status mapping for Twilio

Add a sales/subscription status mapping for Twilio.

Steps:

1 - Access the Guru admin with your username and password.

2 - In the side menu, go to Settings > Integrations > SMS > Twilio.

3 - Click on Additional Settings and then on Status Mapping.

4 - According to the mapping you want to perform, select subscriptions or sales. Example: if you sell a subscription product, select the subscriptions option.

5 - Next, click on Add Status Mapping.

6 - When adding, select the option you want:

SMS

7 - Enter:

  1. Status: select the transaction status for which you want to trigger messages;

  2. Product: select the product in Guru for which you want to set up mapping rules;

  3. Mobile Phone: select the mobile phone number from which the message will be sent;

  4. Message: enter the text to be sent in the message;

  5. Subscription/transaction field (sales): select the subscription/sale field you want to associate with the number in the message;

  6. Add: insert into the message the dynamic field you chose from the subscription/transaction (sales) (item 5).

WhatsApp

7 - Enter:

  1. Status: select the transaction status for which you want to trigger messages;

  2. Products: select the product in Guru for which you want to set up mapping rules;

  3. Sender: select the mobile phone number from which the message will be sent;

  4. Message Template: select the template for the text to be sent in the message;

  5. Language: select the language of the chosen template;

  6. Message: enter the text to be sent in the message;

  7. Subscription/transaction field (sales): select the subscription/sale field you want to associate with the number in the message;

  8. Add: insert into the message the dynamic field you chose from the subscription/transaction (sales) (item 6).

8 - Click on Send.

To confirm that the mapping was created successfully, you should see a notification in the upper right corner.

9 - Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each mapping you want to create.


View the list of Mappings

By default, the mapping list is organized by creation date (from newest to oldest). For faster page loading, only the first records are displayed. If you want to view the remaining items on the list, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and click View more at the bottom center of the screen.

Steps:

1 - Access the Guru admin with your username and password.

2 - In the side menu, go to Settings > Integrations > SMS > Twilio.

3 - Click on Additional Settings and then on Status Mapping.

4 - According to the mapping you want to perform, select subscriptions or sales. Example: if you sell a subscription product, select the subscriptions option.

5 - The list displays the following information:

  1. Message type: the SMS or WhatsApp message type;

  2. Status: the transaction status for which you want to trigger messages;

  3. Products: the product in Guru for which you want to set up mapping rules;

  4. Sender: the mobile phone number sending the message;

  5. Message: the text that will be sent in the message.

Update Status Mapping

Once created, you can update a status mapping. This feature is useful when you need to change the triggering rule for a status in Twilio.

Steps:

1 – In the list, locate the desired product and click on it.

2 - Select the option you want to edit:

SMS

3 - Enter:

  1. Status: select the transaction status for which you want to trigger messages;

  2. Products: select the product in Guru for which you want to set up mapping rules;

  3. Mobile Phone: select the mobile phone number from which the message will be sent;

  4. Message: enter the text to be sent in the message;

  5. Subscription/transaction field (sales): select the subscription/sale field you want to associate with the number in the message;

  6. Add: insert into the message the dynamic field you chose from the subscription/transaction (sales) (item 5).

WhatsApp

3 - Enter:

  1. Status: select the transaction status for which you want to trigger messages;

  2. Product: select the product in Guru for which you want to set up mapping rules;

  3. Sender: select the mobile phone number from which the message will be sent;

  4. Message Template: select the template for the text to be sent in the message;

  5. Language: select the language of the chosen template;

  6. Message: enter the text to be sent in the message;

  7. Tag/Subscription/transaction field (sales): select the subscription/sale field you want to associate with the number in the message.

4 – Click on Send.

A message will be displayed indicating that the mapping was updated successfully.


Delete Status Mapping

Once created, you can remove a status mapping. This feature is useful when you no longer want to map the status in Twilio when a product or subscription sale occurs in Guru.

Steps:

1 – In the list, locate the desired mapping and click the corresponding Remove button.

2 - Confirm if you want to proceed with the deletion. To confirm that the mapping was deleted, a message will be displayed for a few seconds at the top right of the page.

From this moment on, Guru stops triggering messages for the sales status mapping to Twilio.


View Audit

For security measures, Guru stores a history of all operations performed on product mapping, identifying user, date/time of the operation, and other details.

Steps:

1 - In the side menu, go to Settings > Integrations > SMS > Twilio.

2 - Click on Additional Settings and then on Status Mapping.

3 - Click on the Audit tab.

4 - Activities are displayed in a timeline (from most recent to oldest).

5 - If you wish, you can view the details of the activity by clicking on its title.

6 - Click on one of the available sections to view the data:

Detail

Displays detailed information about the activity in question.

  1. ID: update identification number (ID);

  2. Type of change made;

  3. Created at: date of activity record.

User

Displays information about the user who performed the action.

  1. Name: name of the user who performed the operation;

  2. Email: email of the user who performed the operation.

Infrastructure

Displays infrastructure information (country, IP, user agent…) for the related activity.

  1. Country, Region, City, Latitude & Longitude: location of the device that performed the activity.

  2. IP: device IP address.

  3. User Agent: identification of the user agent that performed the operation.

View Audit filters

You can use filters to view a smaller subset of existing audits. This feature is useful for finding specific audits you want to view.

By default, only records from the last 28 days will be shown, but the period can be changed in the filters, in the Period. field.

Steps:

1 - In the side menu, go to Settings > Integrations > SMS > Twilio.

2 - Click on Additional Settings and then on Status Mapping.

3 - Click on the Audit tab.

4 - In Audit, click on Filters.

5 - Fill in one or more filter options:

  1. Period: searches for audits registered in the selected period - you can use the preset time range buttons or select the date you want to view;

6 - Click on Filter.

You can view the number of applied filters and, when using them, you will be able to clear them without accessing the Filters icon again, making selection removal easier.
